Enable Safety Check – iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security
Do you know? Some apps and people might be tracking you through your phone. But you do not have to worry because Apple has got your back.
In the latest update of iPhone- iOS 16 Apple has given a feature called Safety Check which can easily disconnect you from all the apps and people tracking you with or without letting you know. Another use of this feature is that it can also help the owner in getting back control of their phone in case of any emergency.
To check apps and people keeping your track go to Settings > Privacy & Security > and scroll down to Safety Check. Tap on Manage Sharing & Access to look at your Current Settings and change them according to your own will.
Fix Notifications – iPhone Settings > Notifications
Are you not getting notifications of certain apps? Or getting notified by not-so-important apps and wanting to get rid of them? You can do that in Settings just by opening Settings > Notifications to find a list of all the apps on your phone. Here you can turn on or off notifications of any apps as per need. You can also check whether an app is unintentionally scheduled to send you notifications only at a certain time by clicking on Scheduled Summary here and can turn it off. Here you can also choose whether you want an app to notify you on lock screen or in notification bar.
Reset Indvidual Settings – iPhone Settings > General > Transfer or Reset
Want to start again in a different way and hard / master reset is very stressful for you so you want to pick out your preferred settings that should be refreshed you just have to follow given instructions.
If you want to only reset your iPhone’s network settings, location settings, settings of privacy and other stuff like Apple pay cards in just one go all you must do is go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset. It will not delete any of your contacts, pictures or other media and data. You can also update all these one by one.
- Whenever we click on a word while typing, the iPhone takes a note and keeps that word in dictionary to show it in suggestion afterwards. But if you want to reset these suggestions you can simply try Reset Keyboard Dictionary. It will erase all the saved words.
- If your iPhone’s layout becomes defaulted and you want to go back to the home screen which would be on a pin packed phone you should use Reset Home Screen Layout which will reset your layout and remove any kind of bug you were facing.
- If you do not want any app or people to trace your location, you can cancel their access by tapping Reset Location and Privacy. It will restore these settings to their default. But for those apps which require location to process such as Google Maps and Uber you may have to provide them with your location again when you reopen these apps after resetting location.
- Is your phone having issues while connecting to networks? You can Reset Network Settings. It will get rid of VPNs which were downloaded without using iPhone’s Configuration Profile and it will also get rid of all the networks you have used before.
Check Accessibility Options – iPhone Settings > Accessibility
Apple completely understands the fact that everyone is different. So, it has provided us all with accessibility feature. People who are disabled can still use iPhone by enabling several features in Accessibility option. Some of them are explained below:
- Those who have difficulty in vision can still use iPhone by making things appear bigger on their iPhone screen. They can also make them appear bigger or brighter and in case of colorblindness they can also customize the color of these things according to their need. Fonts of iPhone can also cause migraines which can also be prevented by changing font size to make it less migraine inducing.
- If someone faces an issue in hearing audio voices or sounds, they can adjust audio or can enable flashlight for notifications and calls through accessibility so that whenever they will get a call or notification flashlight will get on.
- You can also control your iPhone using your voice, external switches or physical movements through voice commands and side or home button (in older phones). You can even enable Back Tap which will let you take a screenshot or switch apps and much more whenever you tap at the back.
- You can also enable spoken content so that iPhone will speak words, letters and emoji descriptions to you it can even speak the words you are typing and by enabling Audio Descriptions your iPhone will narrate the visual information of the media displayed on phone.
- Lastly you can enable Siri which acts as a virtual assistant for you and takes commands from you when you speak to it. You can activate Siri by saying “Hey Siri”. You can also type to Siri if you do not want to speak to it.
Change Focus Mode – iPhone Settings > Focus
Some people want to temporarily cancel or postpone their notifications for the time being. So, Apple created Focus mode to limit phone calls, text messages and other distractions. This mode was first introduced in iOS 15 and got a bit updated in iOS 16. Focus mode can go to a greater extent because if you are missing your notifications, text messages and phone calls it may be because you might have unintentionally put your phone on Do Not Disturb mode. You can always recheck which focuses you have made by going to Settings > Focus.
